SCC is a community ensemble of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and straight performers, and their allies, dedicated to presenting high quality musical shows and events that enrich lives and affirm equality for all people. Based in the gay and lesbian community, SCC outreaches to include parents, families, and friends. Through a commitment to musical and personal excellence, the Chorale seeks to empower themselves and their audiences to build bridges between the women and men's communities, as well as the straight and gay communities.

The SCC is committed to filling a vital role in helping enhance the cultural and educational life of Long Beach and Orange County by presenting a high quality concert season at an affordable price and outreaching to all communities in the Southland to dispel stereotypes. The Chorale has toured to Colorado, Florida, San Francisco, Arizona, San Jose, California and in the summer of 2004, traveled to Montreal, Canada as part of the GALA choral festival.
